Authentic vintage Asimon (Israeli telephone tokens) from the 1960s. These tokens were issued by the Israel Postal Company (Do’ar Yisrael) to manage fluctuating call costs during inflationary periods without needing to modify payphone coin slots.
Famously known as Asimons (Hebrew: אסימון), were the primary currency for public telephones from the early 1950s until the early 1990s.
